Frog and Toad are Friends

summary: A simple chapter book, ideal for young readers. Usually composed of 5 short stories about two friends adventures and problems and relationship. Some topics include; willpower, hibernation, spring, growing plants and bravery. The two amphibians take on believable human characteristics that are evident in their conversations with one another.

This book is appropriate for a read aloud at the kindergarten level but can be independently read in grades 1-3.
Comments: Arnold Lobel uses humor and wit to capture his audience. The short stories almost always have a clever ending that leaves you smiling. The friendship between Frog and Toad comes across as very genuine and heartwarming which adds to it's appeal.
